SUMMARY:Rock Creek Golf Course
DESCRIPTION:Join us and take action to stem biodiversity loss most Fridays (weather permitting) and approximately one Saturday each month! We’ll be removing invasive plants from natural areas of the course slated for ongoing volunteer-driven maintenance. Meet at the golf course parking lot. Gloves and tools will be provided\, or bring your own if you have them. Long pants and sleeves\, sturdy shoes\, water bottle\, and a hat are musts. The golf course has a range of habitats\, so regardless of your experience level you are bound to learn something new about our region’s native and invasive plant species. \nNOTE: All help is welcome\, so no problem if you must arrive late or leave early. However\, please communicate with the organizer for the day (Brian or Vanessa) by text if arriving late so you can find us. \nPROJECT UPDATES: This week we will remove patch of Japanese barberry from the forrest interior. \nRSVP: Joining us at the golf course for the first time? Park behind Politics & Prose and slide down the hill or park in the alley where we’ll be working. Parking on 36th St. is an option too. \n\n\nWe’ve made great progress. We are cutting\, pulling and tying up bamboo into reasonable length bundles- 4ft sections. Loppers and gloves provided but bring your own if you like.
